SOUND+GESTURE LAB
NEW YORK CITY, 2026
The Sound + Gesture Lab is an experimental, collaborative research initiative hosted by EdgeCut Arts in New York City.
Its 2026 iteration marks the second cycle of the lab, which brought together a curated cohort of performing artists
including dancers, musicians and multidisciplinary creators to explore the intersection of improvised sound and movement.
With a focus on dynamic collaboration, shared performance language and flat hierarchy, our cohort met weekly throughout June 2026,
with individual participating artists leading different sessions to explore flocking, rhythm, and experimental translations between sound, gesture and technology,
